WEDDING FAQs

How many guests can Lilburndale cater for?

Lilburndale can cater for up to 100 guests for sit down and 120 guests for cocktail/canape-style dining wedding receptions - still with ample room for that all-important dance floor.

Does Lilburndale supply any furniture for the wedding ceremony or reception i.e. tables and chairs?

We absolutely do. Furniture for both ceremony and reception are included as a part of the venue hire - we're talking beautiful wooden pews for the ceremony and long timber trestle tables with matching bentwood chairs for the reception. We also include in our package a full set-up of leather chesterfields and armchairs, velvet lounge suites, timber coffee tables and additional full and half-height wine barrels. In short, you don't need to hire in a thing.

Do we do the styling ourselves?

We've got the main things covered so you don't need to lift a finger (or more-so, a chair). When you hire Lilburndale, your fee includes the Lilburndale styling package. Here, we're talking all the furniture you'd possibly need, elegant vintage white crockery, stemware including crystal-cut tumblers, linen cloth napkins, vases and urns for you or your florist to use, a blackboard and easel for your menu, lush kentia palms for a pop of greenery and more. We also offer some additional optional styling items to hire.

We'll set The Packing Shed up for you so all you need to do is add any floral styling you wish. We can also set up any personal wedding items in consultation with you, like wedding favours, place cards, menus, your wishing well etc. for an additional hourly fee. On the day of your wedding, your focus should be soaking up the good vibes with your nearest and dearest and we'll support this in any way possible.

Who will be at the venue on the day? What happens if something goes wrong?

No stress - we've got you totally covered. When you get married at Lilburndale, you'll have your own wedding coordinator (hi from Felicity!) who will be there to hold your hands in the lead up to the big day. And on the day, Lilburndale's venue manager (hello, Amy here!) will be right there to ensure things run smoothly and look amazing on the day.

Both our venue coordinator and manager work exclusively at Lilburndale and know the venue back-to-front, so you're in the very best care. All you've got to do is focus on having a good time (trust us, that won't be hard).

Does Lilburndale have accommodation options on-site?

While we don't have onsite accommodation at Lilburndale, there are ample beds at the Crowne Plaza Hawkesbury Valley just 20 minutes down the road. The Crowne Plaza will offer all Lilburndale couples discounted room rates on group bookings - we can share a contact with you, should you book Lilburndale for your big day. There are also several Airbnb's within the region for guests as well. This is a frequently asked question?

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Is the venue handicap accessible if we have any guests with mobility needs?

Yes, there is full access and amenities for guests with mobility needs, and easy transport between the ceremony and reception areas as well.

Is Lilburndale child friendly?

We love kids (and have our own), however, it's worth noting that given the property is a cattle farm, there are large bulls, electric fences and a river system close by. Children are welcome at Lilburndale for family-oriented weddings under the strict supervision of parents. We would suggest though, that if possible a babysitter is organised for safety reasons, particularly for extended friends and family's little ones.

Does Lilburndale allow pets onsite?

We know that for many, fur babies are part of the family though due to the working nature of our farm, we can't have any extra paws on the property. We do, however, have plenty of animals here to help fill the void that would love to cameo in your photos and keep you company.

What is your wet weather option for our ceremony?

We've got you covered. You've got a couple of gorgeous options - Lilburndale House's verandah, well as inside The Packing Shed.

The verandah makes for a beautiful, intimate setting to say 'I do's' with country views in the background. You can stand at one end of the verandah and have your guests cosy up in front of you, or we can set up large 4m waterproof umbrellas for your guests to stand beneath on the lawn in front of Lilburndale House while you wed above the steps.

Alternatively, The Packing Shed is not just a place to party - the beautifully styled rustic setting makes for a wonderful wet weather option (particularly if the rain is predicted to be heavy). Bring those loving vibes indoors and then get the celebrations started right away within the corrugated walls.

Does your event space have air conditioning or heating?

We sure do (phew!). There is both air conditioning and heating in The Packing Shed, meaning you and your guests will be kept comfortable all day and night long. Bye bye, sweat patches.

Does Lilburndale have an in-house caterer, or do we need to bring in our own?

Yes, and your tastebuds will be left happy. We pride ourselves on our food and beverage in-house offering which is why we've partnered with executive chef Drew Bolton. Drew has worked in some of Sydney’s top kitchens (stints at Aria, Quay, and Darley’s), as well as worked in Michelin-starred kitchens across the U.S. and Europe which has shaped his understanding of fine dining cuisine and his food philosophy: cooking within the seasons and treating every ingredient with the respect it deserves.

Importantly though, he's catered for hundreds of weddings and events, meaning Drew and his team completely understand the nuances of making sure good food arrives fresh, hot and in generous supply. We guarantee full bellies.

A variety of different menu options will be available to meet your budget. We have a fully equipped kitchen and supply all cutlery and crockery. And we also offer a complimentary menu tasting for all Lilburndale couples.

Can we bring our own booze?

Lilburndale is a licensed venue, meaning we have this sorted for you. You can select from one of our carefully designed alcohol packages that include a variety of wines (sparkling, white, red), beers and non-alcoholic options. We also offer spirits that can be purchased at the bar within The Packing Shed too.

What is Lilburndale’s event curfew?

Our curfew is 10:30pm (last drinks are called at 10pm). To ensure you have plenty of time to celebrate with your loved ones, we recommend starting your ceremony at 3pm - and can make recommendations on how to structure your wedding day to maximise your day depending on what's most important to you (e.g. a lengthy dining experience or more time on the dance floor).

Do you supply a PA system?

Yes - we have an audio and PA system available onsite which is included in the venue hire.

Does Lilburndale allow camping?

Due to the working nature of the property (Lilburndale is a cattle farm), we don't allow camping but there are alternative accommodation options nearby.

Can you make recommendations for wedding suppliers that we should consider?

Absolutely. Simply request our venue info kit and you'll find a whole host of talented vendors we love that will have you covered for photos, music, the official stuff (celebrants), florals, transport, stationery and more.
