OUR HISTORY.

Lilburndale House

In 2013, the Cotter family hosted an intimate wedding ceremony in front of Lilburndale House with the reception held in The Packing Shed. The Packing Shed was renovated at the time to cater for the wedding reception along with some of the old machinery restored into tables, a drinks bar, and our favourite - the Grader that now displays relics that have been found around property.

The wedding was so beautiful The Cotter family decided it would open its doors to its beloved farm for others to enjoy for their special wedding day.

Established in 1829, Lilburndale House belonged to the son of one of the earliest free settlers in the district, George Hall. It went on to become one of the Hawkesbury’s most significant pastoral properties with a rich cultural history.

Recognised as prime agricultural land along the Hawkesbury River, Lilburndale has cultivated a variety of produce over the last 200 years. Over the past decade Lilburndale has been home to the award winning Square Meater and Limousin cattle stud Brinsley Pastoral Co.

A number of heritage and pastoral buildings reside on Lilburndale including The Packing Shed. Originally built in the 1920’s, the Packing Shed was used to sort and pack the Valencia oranges from the citrus orchard that still stands up the valley.
