Reflections of Lilburndale
An Art Exhibition Honouring Place, Story, and Stillness

This November, Lilburndale will host its first curated art exhibition: Reflections of Lilburndale — a celebration of the land, history, and quiet beauty of this unique Hawkesbury property.

The exhibition brings together a small group of invited artists—painters, photographers, and mixed-media creators—whose work resonates with themes of place, memory, and nature. Each artist has been invited to create pieces inspired directly by Lilburndale’s landscapes, architecture, and layered past. From its heritage-listed stone buildings and working paddocks, to its biodiverse wetlands and native bushland, Lilburndale offers a striking and deeply Australian sense of place.

Set on the traditional lands of the Darkinjung people, Lilburndale’s history spans from pre-colonial significance through early settler life and into the present day. Originally granted in 1829 to free settler George Hall, the property has been carefully restored and expanded by the Cotter family since 2006, now encompassing nearly 1,200 acres of culturally and ecologically rich land along the Hawkesbury River.
